Best mid/long-range loadout
I like this attachment combo for when my FFAR is the longest-range weapon I have. It controls the recoil as much as possible and whacks on a nice scope to zoom in and hit your targets.
Muzzle: Agency Silencer (Level 46) Barrel: 19.5” Reinforced Heavy (Level 21) Optic: Royal & Kross 4x (Level 42) Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip (Level 41) Ammunition: STANAG 50 Rnd (Level 34)
The Agency Silencer is a must on the rifle. It’ll keep you off the enemy radar when you fire, as well as boost your bullet velocity and range. It’s vital for all FFAR loadouts, but especially this more range-focused one. Barrel-wise, I’ve gone for the 19.5” Reinforced Heavy It’s another bullet velocity boost, as well as bumping up your damage ranges so your maximum damage output stretches further. Your speed is harmed, but if you want speed then switch to your SMG. Optic-wise, I like using the Royal & Kross 4x, but the Axial Arms 3x is another solid option. Basically, zooming in further is hugely beneficial on a ranged FFAR build, despite the fairly clean iron sights. To reduce recoil, the Field Agent Grip is the go-to on this gun. It’ll help you both in vertical and horizontal recoil. Ammo-wise, your default mag is only 25 bullets, so it’s pretty important to boost this. The STANAG 50 Rnd magazine is what I prefer, but feel free to use the Salvo 50 Rnd Fast Mag if you don’t mind sacrificing a bit of ADS speed for a faster reload time.
Best close-range loadout
This is my favourite loadout for the assault rifle. Whilst it has some similarities to the previous loadout, you’re stocking it up to maximise your movement speed, allowing you to strafe around and dodge enemy bullets like you’re playing Doom. The FFAR 1 has been nerfed slightly when it comes to ADS speed, so it’s important to compensate for that when you’re building a close-range class for it. Here’s the attachments I’ve gone with:
Muzzle: Agency Silencer (Level 46) Barrel: 19.5" Reinforced Heavy (Level 21) Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap (Level 44) Stock: Raider Stock (Level 54) Ammunition: STANAG 50 Rnd (Level 34)
I’ll go through the differences with this loadout here. The Serpent Wrap gives you that extra little bit of ADS speed, and since you’re focusing on closer ranges you won’t need the Field Agent Grip. It doesn’t even help that much with recoil according to P4wnyhof, so it’s way more worth it to grab the newly-fixed rear grip. It’s a noticeable boost to ADS time, so give it a try if you haven’t already. Getting the Raider Stock out is an extremely powerful way to run the FFAR 1. It massively improves your strafe speed while you’re aiming down sights, and the only negative is your hip-fire spread which you won’t be using a huge amount. Use this in close-quarters to absolutely melt your enemies.
Best secondary weapon
It depends on your overall loadout, of course. I usually go for Overkill, as my first loadout in order to get a better secondary. With the long-range build, an SMG like the LC10 or MAC-10 can be really strong. The second loadout here, and my favourite one to run, includes either an AUG or a sniper like the SP-R 208 or HDR to get rid of enemies at range. When you already have a secondary and want to use Ghost though, this doesn’t matter. A Diamatti or JOKR, can be used in this secondary slot, but you’ll want to equip your second primary in all honesty.
Best Perks and Equipment
The Perks and Equipment you use with the FFAR have to be on point. Here’s what I enjoy using:
Perk 1: Double Time/EOD Perk 2: Overkill/Ghost Perk 3: Amped Lethal: C4 Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor
Double Time is what I use when going close-range. Being able to reposition and relocate with the gun is super powerful, and it also helps when you’re repositioning after sniper shots with your secondary. With the other class, I’d go for EOD though, as protecting against rogue explosives is probably more valuable. Choose Overkill or Ghost depending on what you currently have equipped. I usually have one loadout with Overkill and one with Ghost which are otherwise the exact same so I can easily choose on the fly. Finally, Amped is the ideal third slot, as the fast weapon switching is powerful for when you get jumped by foes or need to follow-up on a sniper shot. Finally, pick C4 for its vehicle-exploding potential, and a Heartbeat Sensor if no one else on your team has one. If they do, Stun Grenades are a strong second choice.
How to unlock the FFAR 1
In Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you’ll need to rank yourself up to unlock the FFAR 1. It was launched with the game’s release, and you can unlock it by getting to rank 40. Just play the game a fair bit and it shouldn’t take too long at all, especially if you have double XP tokens on deck. That’s the best you can do with the FFAR 1!
